Team Ronin Athletics went up to compete at the BJJ Fighter Submission Open in Poughkeepsie on June 18th.

Here are the quick results:

Louie - 2nd place in No-Gi Beginner; submitting one opponent with a keylock from mount and outpointing another.

Ali - 1st place in No-Gi Beginner; outpointing his first opponent and then securing a standing rear naked choke submission (within 10 seconds of the match start) for the gold!! Way to go, Ali!

Zak - fought well but lost via armbar to a very tough and seasoned opponent who went on to win the rest of the division. Zak will be back!!!

Christian - 2nd Place in the No-Gi Advanced division; outpointing 2 opponents along the way; also secured 2nd place in the Gi Purple Belt Welterweight division.

Overall, it was a great time!

Kerry and Eric M. were kind enough to lend their cars and support. It was friendly, small, and extremely well run tournament.

Our thanks go out to the organizer (Brian MacLaughlin) & people at BJJFighter.com

Hope you guys can make the next one!
